Local students and budding entrepreneurs from five Queensland schools participated in this year's Tomorrow's Entrepreneurs' program.
The Tomorrow's Entrepreneurs program enables Year 11 students (the equivalent to junior in high school) to attend the Telstra Business Women's Awards ceremony.
It was an unforgettable field trip.
According to a recent Gallup poll 77% of all students surveyed want to be their own boss. (http://goo.gl/dBjfq)
This year, a room full of inspiring women cheered on as Thérèse Rein, wife of former Prime Minster Kevin Rudd, was named the 2012 Telstra Queensland Business Woman of the Year.
Apart from being a self-made millionaire Ms Rein was the very first First Lady to remain in full time work while her husband held the office of the Prime Minister.
"By attending the Telstra Business Woman of the Year Awards, the students were exposed to the stories from successful business women who have achieved success," said Nicole Lander said.
"As a past winner, I wanted to share the spirit of the awards with the students who could well be tomorrow's entrepreneurs," Nicole Lander said.
"It is a memorable field trip because it is not every day that students get the opportunity to be inspired by, and network with, the most successful business women in Queensland."
